Pregnancy Week 8What are the changes in growth and development of your fetus?

 

Ah! I am growing thick and wide and long… the fetal growth and development continues.

 

The fetal heartbeat can be ruled out on an ultrasound the limb buds develop into the arms and legs. The fingers and nails on them will come later on.

 

The ears, eyes, nose and the mouth develop to complete the facial development. The teeth may also start to develop.
     
What changes are expected in you, mom?

 

Usually, it’s the period when you may or may not notice but your waistline is expanding as your uterus continues to grow gradually with the growing life within itself.

 

A primigravida (the woman who has conceived for the first time) may not probably have abdominal enlargement.

 

What’s your role dad---Dad’s support?

 

At this juncture, Mom needs a consultation and medical check-up as far as possible make all your efforts to go with her during her first antenatal visit or appointment. Seek the advices and also clear the doubts with your midwife or doctor and caregiver.
