Pregnancy Week 37(COUNTING FROM THE FIRST DAY OF L.M.P)


AROUND 35 WEEKS AFTER CONCEPTION:

 

What are the changes in growth and development of your fetus?

 

The baby with average size now weighs around 6.5 pounds. The baby prepares self to adjust to the extra uterine environment… the breathing movements are done to survive outside. The light sensitiveness is present as the baby can turn at the light.

 

The grasping reflex also develops as it becomes more firm and tight.

 

What changes are expected in you, mom?

 

You may have vaginal discharge which gets heavier day by day, you feel. Your body is preparing for the labor. At this point you are well pre-informed that your baby is in which position. The normal and usual position is the baby with the head down. Some may have baby with the buttocks down; its called the breech position.

 

So which position your baby has occupied within? You can have normal delivery with the head down position; you may be advised for the caesarean for the baby in the breech position.

 

Anyways, your baby can arrive anytime and you are hoping so. Prepare yourself for this.

 

What’s your role dad---Dad’s support?

 

Dad you need to prepare yourself as anything can happen at any moment. Have a sensible and flexible plan for many things.

 

Details of the things such as the hospitals, contact numbers--important phone numbers important contacts.

 

These all preparations should be done well in advance.
