(COUNTING FROM THE FIRST DAY OF L.M.P)
AROUND 33 WEEKS AFTER CONCEPTION
What are the changes in growth and development of your fetus?
I am fat enough, now. The baby now weighs around 5 and ½ pounds, Thanks to the fat in the baby’s body. It still continues to accumulate in the extremities, making the baby fatty and chubbier. Now this has decreased the baby’s space, the room within the uterus.
Descent of the testes in the male baby almost gets completed.
What changes are expected in you, mom?
The antenatal visits to your caregiver are very important now. Your cervix will be examined on every per-vaginal examination. That’s done to check out the effacement of your cervix and dilatation as well.
The effacement refers to the thinning of the cervix due to the stretching action; the cervix becomes continues with the body of the uterus.
The cervical dilatation is the widening of the cervical opening in order to allow the baby to pass through.
The effacement will be generally measured in terms of the percentages i.e. 50% or so…
The full cervical dilatation will measure 10 centimeters that is the requisite for the normal delivery.
What’s your role dad---Dad’s support?
Mom looks fatty now; show your love and affection; there can be many ways to express your love rather than just sex. See if she is interested or she feels mood less for that; don’t think more leave it, show your love in another ways—well you can do that.
If both are interested try out using the suitable positions after consulting your doctor; enjoy!
