(COUNTING FROM THE FIRST DAY OF L.M.P)
AROUND 23 WEEKS AFTER CONCEPTION:
What are the changes in growth and development of your fetus?
The fetal spine is developing; the joints and ligaments begin to form; the external nares or the fetal nostrils are starting to open now. The lungs are also gaining maturity as the pulmonary blood vessels are developed.
What changes are expected in you, mom?
The shape of your uterus is like a soccer ball. The size is constantly increasing; the back strain and the pelvic uneasiness may be felt due to the pressure of the uterus on the back; you may feel the abdominal pain. Apply heat or cold application; rest adequately and ensure the change in your positions while you rest. Back exercises and massage can also ease the back pain.
Ask about and discuss with your doctor the signs of the pre-term labor and its warning signs.
What’s your role dad---Dad’s support?
Discuss with mom the paternity as well as the maternity leave and check out for the benefits, too.
