(COUNTING FROM THE FIRST DAY OF L.M.P)
AROUND 16 WEEKS AFTER CONCEPTION:
What are the changes in growth and development of your fetus?
The fetal skin is covered with the vernix caseosa and enough lanugo at present. The fetal weight nearly becomes half a pound and the fetus gains a clear resemblance to man. The finger tips and toes are now completed and pads develop now. The intestines have the baby’s first movement called meconium. If your baby is a boy, he will start developing the prostate gland.
What changes are expected in you, mom?
The uterus is just below your navel. You may now experience the feeling of dizziness or fainting, may be probably due to the postural hypotension. Check out if it happens due to position change and discuss with your doctor.
What’s your role dad---Dad’s support?
You may feel that Mom has got a habit of complaining---all sorts of minor problems and she starts to make complaint. Is it so? You may sometimes feel them vague, out of your understanding or at times helpless but still you should not lose the temper or show your reaction, man. React calmly-- Let her ventilate out her emotions and feelings and all that she has within her head. She is just trying out to relax anyways. And above all, she expects from you that you will definitely understand her. You can Dad!
