(COUNTING FROM THE FIRST DAY OF L.M.P)
AROUND 10 WEEKS AFTER CONCEPTION
What are the changes in growth and development of your fetus?
Overall fetal growth and development is completed as almost all the organs and structures have been formed by now.
The fetal hands and feet start to have separate fingers and toes. Nails on them start to grow as well. Tiny little limbs!
The gender of the baby gets clearly formed and distinguished by now.
The renal system starts its action now; its activity leads to the addition to the amniotic fluid surrounding the fetus due to the excretion of urine by the fetus.
The intestines also show the peristaltic movements within them.
What changes are expected in you, mom?
Your abdomen is enlarging day by day and you start feeling it. However you may also feel the discomfort to the breathing due to the shifting up of the uterus every week from now on. But as the uterus moves up, it lessens your urgency of micturition due to release of the pressure on the bladder. So mom, less trips to the bathroom now.
So far, you can feel relaxed on getting relief from the morning sickness. However the hypervolemic state may lead to light-headedness or the headaches…are you feeling them consult your doctor then.
What’s your role dad---Dad’s support?
Well Dad, gentle touch, warmth and sparing time for her is all what you need to do now. Encourage her to do exercises once you have been advised by the caregiver or the doctor to do so.
